Well today is the day that I leave for Colorado for my first time. I am going with some friends to Breckenridge to stay and snowboard. Should be an awesome time to kick back and board and take in all the snow there ha , anyways its been a long past two weeks of church things never-ending and deadlines needed to be made so I am so glad I got through those and can enjoy a much-needed vacation. Well on the other note I have been trying to listen and pray about this new guys bible study I am going to get going when I get back. It has been on my heart to start one sense Passion has been over and I really have not had the time, so now after getting back I hope for a strong start and our faith to grow in many ways through Gods will. I guess I should get back to packing but for now here is a little picture of Breckenridge

Jesus the renown

Well its been a while sense I posted much and that would because of the holidays and being busy, but I know thats not any reason not to get on more and share whats on my heart. I guess I will start with being overwhelmed by the rising of Jesus from the Passion2011 conference I just got back from in Atlanta, Ga. I am so humbled with our generation making the movement and sharing his name above all names. It gets to a point of frustration when people say this world has no future and is done. I feel in my heart the joy of Jesus and him being the renown, which if you look it up, and it means widespread and high repute of fame. Now that is the renown of Jesus and only Jesus. After going to Passion2011 (www.268generation.com) I have felt convicted to start a guys bible study to dig in the word and lift up Jesus and reach others that dont know about the Gospel. I really dont know what this would look like and the impact that we as young guys can do but I do feel the need to be open to what God puts on my heart and the others. After hearing a message from John Piper I have a question about how you feel loved by God. Do you feel more loved by God by you, or what he makes of you?? I feel like its selfish how we always wanted to be loved by God but at the same time we dont see what God makes of us rather then loving others more then your self sometimes. As Jesus would say to be glorified in John 17 I guess its just a little of what I learned and maybe could help you think where your heart is with that. Here are a few pictures from Passion.

After taking a look at this video I can’t figure out if its right for Francis Chan of leaving the church or not. I do feel in my heart that he is doing this for his church and the people at the church. His passion seems so strong to be Christ like and to suffer for the sake of the Gospel and his will, take a look at this video and see what you feel?

Well recently I have been going to this website for some awesome deals. Its call “www.whiskeymilitia.com” , the reason I bring this up is because I know how a most of us like to shop online theses days and I think this just might save you some $, but hey its up to you. They change the product about ever 10 mins or so just don’t think that’s the only thing they are selling lol. Anyways have fun and don’t shop too much Hehe.

Generation 268

Its crazy how after spending 4 days in Atlanta, GA that I could get sick of the sound a lot of people talking. The fact is that I just got back from Passion2010, http://www.268generation.com/2.0/splash3.htm. My time there with some of my close friends was a grateful time to be awaken and to humbled by his grace. It hit home when I was in the arena with 10,000 college students just like me, and just so you know there was another arena filled with another 10,000. The part that hit me was that they all were worshiping the same God I do and just by seeing and feeling that it just hit my heart by his humbling presents. I think every college student should take a look at some of the messages when they come out and see what passion is all about. In one of Chan’s books he says a Fraze such as “Harsh words and loving go hand and hand”. I think by that point it should awake those that are still a sleep.

Hearing him

Well wow its been a crazy couple of days. To start out letting everyone know that yes I was in a car accident and my car is a goner. So with all that thought I have to just say wow God thank you for having me walk out of a wreck like that, and having me be in good condition. I am a little sore and beat up but I will have healing and rest. As I was sitting in the house that Jordan and I were house sitting for I just was thinking a lot and I remember a point after the wreck of me getting stuff in my back seat and in me hearing God whisper to me saying I am not finished with you yet. God is a powerful God and a moving and touching God that sometimes I think we miss and even understand how great he is. I walk in the bathroom last night looking in the mirror thinking and looking straight ahead and I look at my self thinking wow I am still alive and moving, and look I can see and hear and move and smell. I think to my self you have more a head and as I say that I turn my head to the left and look in the side mirror as I feel the presences of God and the chills running down my back. “Deuteronomy 12:7 There, in the presence of the LORD your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the LORD your God has blessed you.” There was no words to say after that. One other thing I have been kinda thinking about after reading a article by Tim Keller is that – The Gospel does all its renewing work in us as we understand the truth. This is so true and powerful and if we all grasp that then I believe that there would be some changing hearts made by Jesus.

Humble

Well again its been a while sense I have had time to post some stuff, which I am sorry about. But over this past time its been pretty busy for me and exciting at the same time. The reason being is that my internship has fully gotten going and its really cool to see how God has been already working in it, just by leading the ropes and rolls on to me to do and for me to figure out. Another thing that has been really cool is that Vertical had its kick off a couple weeks ago and we had a total of 260 kids there which was really sweet to see and motivated for us leaders to see. I think in my last post I mention some hard issues I was dealing with and some stuff that was just on my heart a lot for me. With that I just have been really praying about it all and taking one step at a time to not push things to fast and all. I have started to move on from all of this, and I really need to keep in mind of what my heart needs and not what myself being needs or wants in some cases. I think all of my thoughts and actions should come back to the Gospel which should being pushing me in anyways I need to be pushed in. To kinda end things I think we all need to keep our hearts humbled and a Gospel center way. As I was reading this it really made me think “Deuteronomy 8:2 And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not”.

Milk and Bananas O and Life

So time has gone by so fast from the start of summer to now. I think its really true, that the older you get the faster time goes. It just shows I am growing up I guess. Anyways a lot has gone down these past few months and I am not going to get into much. But as I think over theses few months I have learned a lot, mostly how to deal with things and get past the old and look towards the new in people. Some exciting news is that instead of going to Owens this semester I am doing a internship at my home church that I attended. My internship will have deal with Vertical the high school ministry and Fusion the Jr. high ministry. I think that God has really called me to step up and serve in a new way that I have never before. Now with Owens I might be going to in the spring for landscaping and turf management, God willing. To end things off I am very glad to get my new ESV bible that I received in the mail today . For these up coming months I am excited to see what God has in plan for me.

Grasping the truth

So many people go around thinking they are saved because they said a prayer. Lets think this over because i think there is a deeper part besides just saying a prayer. As it says in second Chronicles 6:37 and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity and say, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong and acted wickedly’;. With this there is a bigger reason and it comes down simply to Jesus and that we did not deserve to live but by him dieing for us and having this grace that we don’t deserve is just the over all purpose to live for Jesus and give glory to him. We all deserve death but for this we are not and that just alone shows that we should all being living and committed to the Gospel and living in a Gospel community.
